If you oft repeat anything , it will manifest itself.
Most people are manifested in delusion and fraud. I aim, in this brief musing, to prove to you that you too are a fraud, no matter how squeaky-clean you may appear to others or how delusively-clean you may think yourself to be. This could be great news, if you read and listen in a humble fashion.
Vanity keeps persons in favor with themselves who are out of favor with all others.
What happens every morning that you are alive and relatively healthy? Of course, you wake up and go through your daily motions and emotions. Everything you and I do is meant to ease our fear of loneliness and of not being appreciated.
So we drive a certain car, dress in a particular fashion, speak in an affected manner, eat food we associate with happiness or style, and make love (or don’t make love) in a manner which makes a statement about who we are are and what we stand for.
What do you stand for? Justice? Equality? Wife or husband swapping/beating? Your religious convictions? Working hard on the job? Being a good parent? Being an obedient child? Being loyal to everyone? Making mountains’ of moolah? Or here are two dear to my heart: being educated and enlightened?
It’s all nonsense and self-fraudery. The one thing most people avoid at any cost is thinking about profound issues of life and death. We tiptoe around them because they seem so impenetrable and imponderable, and thus meaningless to us all.
Questions such as - “What is the meaning of life?” or “What is my life purpose?” or “Where do I go after I die?” – are at first intriguing imponderables, but soon become fading echoes as we move hectically forward (or backward) in our quest to be somebody in this rental world we inhabit.
Is life just a random whirlwind of events which we are forced to partake in and react to? Are we predestined to be a master or a slave? Do some people just seem to have all the luck?
Each question you ask yourself is either meant to reinforce your existing belief system which keeps you in your place or question your place in the system.
So are you ready to move forward and finally reveal to the world the naked truth about you? Don’t worry: the most important beings will not be ashamed or repulsed by your innocent nakedness or naked innocense. They will revel and come to your aid and protect you from evil and jealousness of others bathed in fraud and cloaked in vanity.
My God has spoken through me. It’s up to you to take these words and ideas and run with them or reject them as blasphemy against the prevailing cult of the fraudulent.
I would rather live one pure day of being my naked, unashamed self than 29,200 hours (80 years) of fraud, delusion, and cover up.
I’ll let you be the judge.
In a 2007 article, Judge Posner swept through the idea of mandatory conscription for all young adults over 18. He pulled numbers out of thin air as to how much such a program would cost to fund. Out of the blue he gave a cost of $27,000 per person (excluding administrative overhead) for a mandatory workforce of 4 million conscripts.
Numbers are a way of denigrating the value of human beings. It is a knee-jerk way of trying to neatly fit each multidimensional youth (in this case) into a one-size-fits-all box.
This is a prime example of bureaucratic mind babbling endemic in professorial types. They speak to us from a mountaintop enclave of rich, over educated pontificates who love to tell us mortals what is best for our lot. They have as much connection with mortals as does a rock.
Nothing in society should be mandatory other than rules and laws protecting us against aggression and fraud. Conscription is an attempt to force people to follow the will of the privileged. No doubt the well-heeled will finagle their children out of service, just as President Bush did with his son’s country club stint in the Air National Guard.
Service should be a natural extension of good upbringing. Why should we force our children to behave in a fashion we reject vehemently? If families and schools become living laboratories of beneficence, the needs of society for the least fortunate will never go unmet. Armies can be trimmed.
The previous paragraph especially applies to Israel with its accepted principle of mandatory service in the army. When we create armies and use unwilling people to fill their ranks, then it is time to reconsider our right to exist.
The same principle applies to America’s relentlessness quest to control the world through military adventurism. It is near impossible to teach morality and public service when we Americans have held on to the nuclear deterrent for 65 shameful years after being the only nation to irradiate two cities.
It is no wonder that so many volatile nations wish to now join the nuclear club. The example America has set led to this proliferation and to the unfair labeling of states wishing to balance the scales as being terrorist cells. We need a caring society which looks to government as a last resort
Example is not the main thing in influencing others, it is the only thing.
~Albert Schweitzer~
We need a caring society which looks to government as a last resort in restoring order or providing for the helpless. Conscription is a sign that a society has failed to provide moral, intelligent training to its children. Leave no child behind.
Respected Judge Richard Posner – that’s me and the other one – see eye to eye on the decriminalization of marijuana.
It is criminal to make a criminal of a person seeking to escape reality through non-lethal, non-violent means.
There is not a sinless person on this planet. We all have our sloppy or sophisticated methods of coping with the vicissitudes of living. Some of us choose to masturbate in a rest room, others choose to run marathons, and still others choose to bury their head in a book from dawn to dusk.
Though each of these ways may have benefits and disadvantages, one is no more correct than another, unless we wish to play God. The key component in deciding whether a habit or obsession is acceptable has nothing to do with the majority’s distaste for a lifestyle choice. The key element is whether such an activity poses a physical threat to the community.
Most definitely, marijuana poses far less threat to society than does the condoned habits of the majority, alcohol and tobacco. The morals of society will not change an inkling because marijuana is legal. Stupid folks smoke or drink when doing activities requiring concentration and responsibility. Outlawing a rather innocuous drug when taken in moderate doses – which IS the case in marijuana – creates a criminal class which should not exist in a democracy.
Even though there is no universally accepted definition of ‘democracy’, there are two principles that any definition of democracy includes. The first principle is that all members of the society (citizens) have equal access to power and the second that all members (citizens) enjoy universally recognized freedoms and liberties.
Notice this premise says “all members” rather than only those whom we agree. Democracy, as penned in the United States, dismisses this principle and has created in its stead a theocratic thug society led by Christians. The Christian witch burning is evident in almost every sting operation, whether it is to catch a politician soliciting sex in a toilet stall or entrapping a successful business leader buying an ounce of Maui Powy.
Most of the people in the prison system do not belong there, though a few definitely do. It is a moral shame that the United has more people in its gulags at one time than Stalin or Hitler ever did. There is a similarity between the fascists and the democrats – most people are innocent of all crimes other than being human.
If we are to entrap people, let us jail the father smoking cigarettes around his pregnant wife or newborn. Let us lock up politician-thieves who easily spend money that they don’t have for projects which do little to further society other than to prolong their careers. Let us jail parents who serve minors alcohol and give a wink to their charges when they come home sloppy drunk in their freshman years. Let us hang those who reject job applicants because they look Arab or too dark.
Ah, the gotcha society is nasty and as undemocratic as they come. But as a judge, I forgive them for they know not what they do. But if they continue to taunt sinners in the name of living on a higher ground, let us commit anarchy and behead these witch hunters before we all become somatized and chained for eternity.
